VICTORIA, B.C. — Five Conservative MLAs today publicly endorsed Peter Milobar’s bid to lead the Conservative Party of British Columbia, calling him the steady, proven leader the party needs to form government.
Standing together on the steps of the B.C. Legislature, MLAs Gavin Dew, Brennan Day, Ward Stamer, Scott McInnis, and Kiel Giddens pledged their support for Milobar, citing his experience, economic focus, and ability to grow the party’s coalition across the province.
The MLAs said British Columbians are looking for serious leadership focused on affordability, economic growth, and restoring confidence in the province’s future — and that Milobar is best positioned to deliver it.
“Peter brings people together across the party and across the province,” said Kiel Giddens, Labour Critic. “His leadership is about clarity, purpose, and building a team that’s ready to govern.”
Scott McInnis said Milobar understands the urgency of B.C.’s economic challenges. “Peter knows the issues families and businesses are facing, and he has the practical ideas to get our economy moving again.”
After hearing from business owners throughout British Columbia, Gavin Dew said stability and certainty are top of mind. “British Columbians want a government that understands how to grow the economy and attract investment. Peter is the leader who can create those conditions.”
Ward Stamer pointed to Milobar’s 25 years of public service in Kamloops as proof of his commitment to results-driven leadership. “Peter has spent decades delivering for families and businesses, listening carefully, and standing up for his community. That’s the kind of leadership our province needs.”
Milobar thanked his colleagues and described the endorsement as a sign of growing momentum within caucus and across the province.
“We need to be ready to govern on Day One,” said Milobar. “That means a strong Conservative team focused on the priorities of British Columbians. Together, we’re building a movement that can win and lead.”
With five MLAs now publicly backing his campaign, Milobar’s leadership bid continues to build institutional and grassroots support across the province. “The focus is now on building support within the membership and getting as many people who believe in this vision involved in the party and campaign.”
